Paul Khamlu

Financial Adviser

CFP®, BBus, DipFS(FP)

My interest in money management was sparked by witnessing my parents working multiple jobs to make ends meet. That interest turned into a career goal the day my parents proudly declared that they had paid off the mortgage and the house was ours! The sense of relief and fulfillment resonating from them was infectious, and I have been fortunate to have spent the past two decades reliving this moment through my clients as they tick off their financial goals.

I am a Certified Financial Planner working predominantly with individuals and families to secure their financial future and keep it that way forever. I help clients visualise the future they deserve and put in place the strategies and investments that will give them the highest chance of success.

Outside of work, I love spending time with my wife and 2 children. Travelling is our shared passion, and I hope to create a few more memories with them while we’re all together. I stay active by playing golf and occasionally visiting the gym. At home, you’ll find me in the garden, binge watching my favourite shows and cheering on my teams in the NRL and EPL.

What does ‘financial freedom’ mean to you?

Financial Freedom means being having the freedom to do the things I love, without worrying whether I can afford it.

If you could have dinner with anyone dead or alive who would it be?

Family - My Pop (Grandad) as he was very influential in my life. Taught me to drive, play golf and lots of general wisdom on all things, and also finance. He recently passed away. Celebrity - Tom Hanks. Fan of many of his movies!

What is your favourite quote?

"The key to handling pressure is to enjoy it when you're confronted with it, rather than worry about it too much" Steve Waugh.

If you could live in any city in the world for a year, where would it be and why?

London UK. My wife and I travelled there, and Europe in 2012 before the kids came along and loved it!

What's your go-to karaoke song?

Pretty much any song from Queen!
